With there being more Champions League games than ever before due to the new league phase format introduced this year, Amazon Prime opted to put Stelling front and centre of their rules explainer. However, Stelling was not filmed in his usual setting of a studio, but rather from a bathtub, reminiscent of Robbie's soapy financial explainers from Adam McKay's 'The Big Short'. The broadcaster was covered up to his neck in bubbles as he explained the new format.

Unfortunately, he was missing the champagne flute Robbie was holding during her explainer of the 2008 financial crash. But it was just a reminder there are only certain people who could pull off that sort of stunt without anyone batting an eyelid. Of course, Robbie wasn't the only famous celeb to sink her teeth into explaining the 2008 financial crash during 'The Big Short'.

Appearances were also made by Selena Gomez and the late Anthony Bourdain. This season, the Champions League has introduced a new league path phase, which got underway on Tuesday night. With the group stages being ditched, UEFA have implemented a new system which will see all 36 teams competing in a league, rather than separated groups.

Every team involved in the league phase will play eight games, four at home and four away. And they will also play against two teams from each of the four seeding pots. Teams from the same country cannot play each other until the knockout stages.

Additionally, the top eight teams comes the end of the league phase in January will automatically qualify for the round of 16, while teams who finish ninth through to 24th will face off in a play-off knockout round. And football fans will be able to see more of Stelling in the coming months on Amazon Prime. In December last year, he returned to screens to present their 'Every Game Every Goal' show.

And once again this year, the streaming service will host two rounds of Premier League action in December, with games being shown on December 3, 4 and Boxing Day..
