A vacationer in the Hamptons has captured viral attention after sharing something she found unusual on her recent trip. In with more than 5 million views on , Kira Mintzer from New York shared footage of multiple pairs of Hermès sandals that were left unattended on the sandy shores. Mintzer commented, "Only in the Hamptons," while showing the luxury sandals, valued at $760 each, lying in the open.

"No one's gonna take them because it's the Hamptons," Mintzer added in the video that has left many stunned. "When I saw a pair of Hermès Oran sandals lying there, a few things went through my head," Mintzer told . "I was thinking how you have to worry about people taking your belongings, especially things of value, and to see someone leaving $800 sandals completely unattended was truly a sight to be seen.

" Hermès' Oran sandals are a leather slider with an "H" cutout on top, originally designed by Pierre Hardy in 1997 as part of the brand's Africa-inspired spring collection. Today the sandals, which retail for hundreds of dollars, are one of the luxury brand's most recognizable products, available in a range of colors. Since the late 19th century, the Hamptons, located on the eastern end of Long Island, New York, have attracted affluent families and individuals looking for a luxurious retreat from the city.

Today, the Hamptons remain synonymous with opulence, boasting sprawling estates, exclusive beaches, and a vibrant social scene that draws celebrities, business moguls and socialites. "I grew up loving the beach and was taught that you can leave your beach shoes at the top of the sand, typically a pair of casual flip-flops," said Mintzer. "It is sort of an unspoken rule of the beach, or at least in the Hamptons.

I think it speaks to the wealth in the Hamptons—people feel comfortable leaving expensive things lying around. But I think it also speaks to the trust that people have in beach towns like the Hamptons." As the video took off on TikTok, people reacted in the comments, sharing thoughts and shock at the unattended items.

"Now I know where I'm taking my vacation," laughed viewer NazzyMyDaddy4L. "Watch out Hamptons." While Christi Cartee wrote: "You should take them just to shake things up a bit.

" Others couldn't believe it. "Imagine a world like that," said Happy Chic. While others shared their own experiences.

"This happens every time we go to the beach at the Hamptons. This is normal no one takes them bc everyone owns a pair," livia.2027 wrote.

While Kat said: "I live in Dubai and Birkins are used as beach bags." "I was pleasantly surprised by the viral reaction to the video," Mintzer said, although she admitted being a little shocked by some of the comments. "I was taken aback by many of the comments on my video because so many people suggested that I should take another person's belongings or said they would have taken the shoes.

I know many people who replied were joking, but sadly it seemed many people were serious.".
