The road to IPL 2025 has started with some fashion as 10 IPL franchises have announced their retention lists ahead of the mega auction set to begin later in the year 2024. Without any doubt, India’s fast bowling sensation Jasprit Bumrah became the top pick for 5th-time champions Mumbai Indians. As soon as he got retained for Rs 18 crore, Bumrah shared his emotions when he was first picked as a 19-year-old teenager.

"It feels good. I came here as a 19-year-old teenager. Now I'm going to turn 31 and have a son, so it's been a complete journey.

I'm happy that the journey is continuing and no better feeling," Bumrah said in a video shared by MI Paltan. “When I came, all the legends of the game were here, and I used to ask a lot of questions. So now, slowly the role is changing, and a lot of youngsters are coming into our team who are eight or nine years younger than me.

“So, I always feel happy to help, because I got a lot of help when I started. So, always willing to help, and always trying my best to contribute in whatever way I can, and whenever I can,” he added. After his arrival in Mumbai Indians, he instantly made his presence felt by picking 3 wickets on his debut.

Bumrah got better every season and soon became the most reliable asset for the 5th time-champion team. He also bowled many match-winning spells and became a threat to other franchises. With Rohit Sharma, captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma retained, Mumbai Indians is looking up to beg.
