Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Japan Airlines ( JAL) and Liverpool Football Club (LFC) have officially opened the new Japan Airlines Lounge at Anfield Stadium, a significant development in their multi-year partnership that began in June 2024. The lounge, part of a broader hospitality package, offers guests a luxurious matchday experience complete with a three-course menu and top-tier service. The lounge, which opened its doors just hours before Liverpool’s first home match on August 25, features a design that seamlessly combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with the vibrant atmosphere of English football.

The space, previously known as the 1892 hospitality suite, is characterized by its use of natural timber, soft lighting, and modern furnishings that reflect the calm and luxury of JAL’s renowned service. “We are thrilled to launch the Japan Airlines Lounge at Anfield, marking an initial key step in our multi-year partnership with Liverpool FC. This lounge uniquely blends Japanese hospitality with football, uniting two cultures that value tradition, excellence, and community.

We look forward to building a strong connection between our brands.” Junko Sakihara, Deputy Vice President of Customer Experience at Japan Airlines, emphasized the lounge’s role in fostering a deeper connection between the two organizations. “The unveiling of this lounge marks a pivotal moment in our partnership with Liverpool FC, focusing on our joint commitment to community and exceptional service,” said Sakihara.

The collaboration also includes community outreach through the LFC Foundation, starting with a youth soccer clinic in Philadelphia and plans to extend to Thailand and beyond. The celebration of the lounge’s opening was distinctly Japanese, with guests enjoying specialty cocktails like the Yuzu Sour and a unique offering of caviar and sake from a roving hospitality cart. The evening concluded with a traditional pairing of Japanese whisky and dessert, and personalized gifts such as engraved chopsticks and luggage tags were distributed as keepsakes.

This partnership between Japan Airlines and Liverpool Football Club aims to bridge cultures and bring together communities and fans around the world through shared passions and cultural exchanges..
