It comes as the 63-year-old from Glasgow made the painful confession that she was advised by doctors to put a halt to her tour and stop work immediately, as she was hospitalised with sepsis.

"Still in hospital! Thank god for the Scottish NHS the care is excellent," Janey wrote alongside a snap of herself as she managed a short smile in a selfie in an update she posted to Twitter on Monday, September 23. Fans soon took to the comments section to share their well-wishes. "Considering you are in hospital , you continue to glow.

You’re a star, home soon," remarked one fan, as another chimed "Sending all best wishes to you Janey! I hope that you're able to be discharged soon. Much love to you. xx" Another said: "Glad you are being so well looked after, Janey .

I’m sure they are doing all they can to get you safely home. Stay strong and positive, because they’ll do all they can for you. Sending love and hugs.

" "You are still looking good on their care - thanks to all involved for taking care of ‘our Janey’!," echoed another. Janey was due to embark on the Why Is She Still Here? tour, which included dates across the UK including Edinburgh, London, and Belfast before doctors advised her that she should stop working “for the foreseeable future”. I am currently in hospital with sepsis (it’s under control) pls contact your theatre for a refund - I’m sorry everyone." Janey first revealed she had ovarian cancer in November 2021.

The Scots comedian was given the all-clear in 2022 and said in a post to Twitter that a scan showed “no evidence of disease”. However, she later announced that another scan had shown signs of the disease in her abdomen but added that she would continue with her tour in February and March 2023. In a video she posted to social media last year, Godley said she had received scan results that showed the treatment she was on was keeping her terminal and incurable ovarian cancer “at bay”.
