Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has revealed a 'game-changing' tip for a common fridge staple, which he says he 'always' purchases frozen. The issue with vegetables is that they often go unused or spoil too quickly. Jamie's top pick from the freezer section? Spinach.
He opts for frozen over fresh to ensure it keeps longer and has dubbed it a 'fantastic' addition to any meal , be it a curry, stew, soup, or even bread. Frozen spinach not only saves time during meal prep but also helps declutter the fridge, reports the Daily Record . In a recent Instagram update, Jamie enthused: "This isn't the first time I've bigged up frozen spinach and it won't be the last!! Don't get me wrong I still love fresh for some things but sometimes frozen is just better.
Anything that saves you time and space in your fridge is a huge win for me!" He elaborated on his kitchen strategy: "So I buy fresh spinach, I grow fresh spinach, and I always buy frozen spinach. "This is incredible, and it's fantastic for curries, bread, and just putting an extra little cube in a stew and a soup, it's a fantastically brilliant thing to do." To round off this clever trick, Jamie suggests wrapping the frozen spinach in a tea towel.
Forget about a 20-minute thaw; he advises giving it a quick bash with a rolling pin to speed up the process. He elaborated: "Then what we've got in here is brilliant spinach." A post shared by Jamie Oliver (@jamieoliver) After breaking it up, you can then add the spinach to any dish you desire.
