James May has been injured in a bike accident. The 61-year-old Grand Tour star was training for a charity bike ride in London when he suffered the accident near Hammersmith Bridge. He fell to the floor and ended up with a "bust wrist" during the nasty accident.

The former Top Gear Presenter's injury has meant he is currently unable to shoot scenes for his new Channel 5 show, titled The Great Explorers with James May. May has admitted it's taken him "much longer" to heal up from the fall due to his age. He told : "At my age, this sort of thing takes much longer to heal.



I woke up one day and the one thing I never thought would happen had happened: I felt old. It's partly my hair; my baggy face." Shortly after the accident, James took to X to reveal his wrist injury.

He wrote: "I'm taking part in a charity bicycle ride today, with the Armonico Consort and me old mate Oz Clarke (OBE). But I'm going in the car, because I bust my wrist in a bicycle accident." Fans rushed to offer him support on the platform.

One wrote: ""That's awesome you're still participating in the charity ride, even if it's from the car! Hope your wrist heals up quickly." Another penned: "I can hear the 'Oh Bugger!'. Get well soon.

" It's not the first time James has been involved in a road accident. Back in 2022, he crashed into the wall at high speed while driving a yellow Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 in a former naval base in Norway. He was filming for their special, The Grand Tour: A Scandi Flick, when the horr.
