Friday, August 30, 2024 Jakarta will host its first Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair, a landmark B2B tourism event, from October 2-4, 2024, at Swissotel Jakarta PIK Avenue. This October, Jakarta will become the hub for travel professionals from around the globe as it hosts the Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF), the nation’s first-ever business-to-business (B2B) tourism event. Scheduled from October 2 to 4, 2024, this landmark event will take place at the Swissotel Jakarta PIK Avenue, a prime location in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, which is rapidly emerging as a prominent urban tourist hotspot.

The choice of Swissotel Jakarta PIK Avenue is strategic due to its convenient location within PIK, which is known for its easy access to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. PIK is also a vibrant area, rich with a variety of businesses, entertainment venues, and event facilities, making it an ideal venue for hosting such a significant tourism event. WITF will coincide with the Southeast Asia Business Event Forum (SEABEFF), which will focus on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

This parallel event highlights Jakarta’s role as a key player in promoting business tourism and showcases its capacity to host large-scale international events. The Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) is the driving force behind WITF 2024. This event is entirely self-funded and operated by GIPI, with strong support and endorsement from Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

GIPI’s extensive network, which includes nearly 40 domestic tourism organizations, local government officials, and various travel-related enterprises, will be leveraged to ensure the event’s success. A nine-member committee comprising industry veterans will select the invitees for WITF 2024. The focus will be on participants actively engaged in promoting Southeast Asian destinations, with a particular emphasis on those that showcase Indonesia’s rich and diverse tourism offerings.

This selective approach aims to foster meaningful connections and collaborations that will benefit the region’s tourism industry..
