Pune: A SpiceJet flight to Jaipur was cancelled in the early hours of Friday, after keeping flyers guessing for over six hours. The flight (SG-1078) was scheduled to take off from Pune at 7.45pm on Thursday and land in Jaipur at 9.

55pm. There was no prior information about its rescheduling, a flyer said. "Passengers got worried after the boarding did not start within the expected time.

Then text messages started to come about the flight getting delayed because of operational reasons. Around 1am, the restless flyers were told that the flight had been cancelled. This resulted in chaos and flyers got into arguments with the airline's clueless staffers," a flyer said.

A source in the airline said the aircraft slated to operate on the Pune-Jaipur sector earlier flew from the city to Bhavnagar and then to Mumbai before coming back to Bhavnagar, and to Pune from there. "The aircraft got grounded in Mumbai because of technical reasons. It was decided that it would come to Pune directly from Mumbai.

But the technical issues could not be sorted out despite several attempts," an airline official said..
