ERIM Kaur’s mum was known for her long hair. She tragically passed away from cancer when Erim was just eight-years-old - but her death sparked a seven-figure business that keeps her memory alive. Business-minded Erim set up a hair oil brand after spending days trialling the likes of onion juice and eggs for luscious locks.
“My mum died when I was eight and one of the things she was known for was her long hair,” the 29-year-old tells. “I would always just really admire her hair..

“In her memory, I vowed to preserve the beauty and significance of her long hair, which was tragically lost during her brave battle with cancer.” Erim, from London, is the proud owner of eponymous haircare label, ByErim. Whilst living with her dad during her childhood, she would spend almost every weekend at her grandma's house.
There, they would dedicate the time to scouring recipe books and shops to “preserve the essence” of her mum’s hair and find the golden recipe that would aid natural, but fast, hair growth. “Together, we spent years in her kitchen, testing out a myriad of unconventional and quirky concoctions,” Erim says. “Through countless trials and tribulations, we persisted until we discovered the perfect combination - the key to preserving the essence of my mother's hair.
