The Chase is known for hosting some of the UK's top quiz minds, but ITV viewers were taken aback when they discovered footage of one of the trivia experts on the contestant's side. Anne Hegerty, 66, once graced BBC's Mastermind not as a quiz master, but as a participant. In 1987, at the tender age of 30, the Governess looked entirely different as she took part in the show.
Her chosen subject was The Life and Works of Lorenz Hart - the renowned lyricist. Anne, who was a journalist back then, is barely recognisable with her curly bob haircut and glasses, donned in an oversized multicoloured dress. This image has recently made its way to Reddit, where fans couldn't believe the vintage look.

One user penned: "She looks twice as old as she does now." Another chimed in: "As others are saying she looks better now the fashion didn't seem to be very good back then haha," reports the Express .
Meanwhile, a third posted: "It's clever really, because if you dress like a grandma in your 30s, by the time you hit your 50s and want work done, you can just dress like a millennial instead and take 30 years off your age." This unearthed appearance is one of two times that Anne competed on Mastermind. In a previous chat with Express.
co.uk, the TV personality confessed that she "wasn't very good" at the show.
