The Austrailian version of ITV show The 1% Club had viewers utterly baffled during a recent episode where not one contestant could decipher the perplexing puzzle presented to them by the host Jim Jefferies. The tough question, which carries an enticing prize money of $100,000AUD (£53,553), was meant to test both the common sense and intelligence of the contestants. In tense scenes, Jefferies issued the tricky riddle: "What number comes next in this sequence? You have 30 seconds to answer your time starts now.
" A confusing pyramid of numbers then flashed up on screen displaying: "1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1." Despite frequent time checks at '15 seconds' and again at '5 seconds', none of the quiz participants were able to crack the mysterious code, leaving everyone in the studio and those viewers tuned in at home completely baffled. Finally, game show host Jefferies revealed the daunting solution: "The solution is - 13112221.
For those trying this at home, here's the trick. You count out loud what you see - so that's one one, then two ones, then one two and one one and so on.", reports the Mirror .
With further explanation, Jefferies concluded: "The final string is - one three, one one, two twos and two ones." Upon realising not a single contestant was able to crack the code, the host couldn't help making light of the situation by quipping, "Ah man, that sucks." Social media was abuzz after a particularly challenging question on a recent ep.
