Viewers of Lorraine reportedly decided to 'switch off' the show, finding themselves 'cringing' at the TV host's anniversary special. The 64-year-old Scottish presenter marked her 40-year TV career with a surprise episode about which she had 'no idea'. Just before her self-titled chat show, Lorraine joined Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on Good Morning Britain, confessing that she was completely unaware of what to expect as she revealed that the programme had been 'hijacked' by two very special women.

Later, fellow co-stars Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh took over hosting duties and surprised Lorraine with a special show featuring a series of special guests making surprise appearances to congratulate her on the milestone, along with various throwback clips of the star. Lorraine was joined by her younger brother Graham, who appeared on the screen behind her in the studio. This left the presenter astounded as he doesn't usually make TV appearances.



The TV personality gasped and laughed, admitting: "I was horrid to him." Meanwhile, emotions were running high as co-star Ross King held back tears while reminiscing about his memories with Lorraine. A clip was shown of his first time on the programme, almost 20 years ago, as he joked: "Wow, that was nearly 20 pounds ago for me! One of us hasn't changed and it is not me! Reflecting on that time in his life, The LA based entertainment correspondent told Lorraine that as he was doing TV in America but was made to feel welcome by her.
