Coronation Street's Simon Gregson has received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow cast members after revealing he is battling health issues. The actor, who plays Steve McDonald on the popular ITV soap , took to Instagram on Monday, November 4 to share details about his challenging weekend. Gregson had been participating in Sotheby's London to Brighton veteran car run but encountered difficulties when the vehicle he was travelling in broke down.
Despite this setback, he remained determined to reach Brighton, switching to another car to continue his journey. In a subsequent update, the 50 year old shared a video in which he revealed: "Car didn't make it, which is fortuitous because neither have I, I am full of man flu. I thought I could make it, I couldn't so I'm tucked up in a very nice hotel where I am going to sleep and hopefully be alright.
" He also expressed gratitude to the British Motorist Museum for lending him the car and voiced his hope to participate again next year. Among those wishing him well was his on-screen daughter, Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow.
