Coronation Street star Sair Khan has been told 'well done' by fans as she showed off some of the results of her recent home renovations which have been taking place amid the arrival of her first child. Sair, who is known for playing Alya Nazir in the ITV soap, admitted she was feeling 'a real mix of emotions' when she announced she was pregnant back in December with her partner Nathan Chilton. She kept much of her pregnancy out of the spotlight and as her exit scenes aired on-screen on-screen, the new mum confirmed her son's arrival in May.

Our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world. He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour.

We didn’t quite get the birth I'd hoped for but that’s okay (two birth pools, no water birth)". But away from being in her new mum bubble, Sair has offered an update on her home renovations after previously asking fans to wish her and Nathan 'luck' after purchasing the doer-upper property while she was pregnant. In a social media post back in January, she was seen in the garden with the home's official 'sold' sign: "We’re about to take on the biggest project of our lives.

And also a teeny little house renovation before the baby arrives! What we thought was as a DIY job has definitely evolved into something much more. Let’s see how we can turn crumbling walls and damp into our new family home (all in the next two months!)." Now, Sair has shared a fresh update on her home - and the results are impressive.

Alongside a glimpse inside her living room and hallway, which had been decorated in natural tones with accent of colours, the soap star said: "House Reno: Before and after...

"It’s not until I look back at these pictures that I realise how far we’ve come. I still can’t believe that this is the same little corner of our living room. This room gets the least amount of light but I was concerned about having glass paned doors with a little one running around and at one point I was so overwhelmed with the building work that I was even trying to convince Nathan to repurpose the old doors! Instagram "In the end we chose two different styles for the house and I’m so glad we went for the glass feature in the living room, it was a no brainer once I knew it was toughened safety glass (the actual doors are made w/sustainable timber-a bonus).

We’ve got bursts of colour on the walls in a couple of other rooms and I like the idea of boldly painting the doors once we’ve lived here a bit longer and really figured out our style. "These Liberty doors came primed so for now we’ve painted them the same fresh shade of white as the ceilings. For the handles we chose Satin Chrome.

The almost matte, brushed effect is so so lovely and I much prefer them to the shiny silver handles I’d seen elsewhere. I also had my eye on the famous black framed doors that Leader are known for as they look so chic but as a compromise I’ve chosen some other black accents for the house instead! #AD @leaderonlineuk." And her fans and followers were quick to respond.
