Dancehall artistes QQ and his younger brother IQ have collaborated on another track titled Festive. For QQ, who is celebrating two decades in the music industry, he is pleased to be keeping the legacy within the family. “The experience collaborating with him is always fun [and] unique.

Seeing his growth is a proud moment. Doing music videos is always fun ‘cause we just immerse ourselves into the work and just seeing the girls enjoying themselves,” he told the Jamaica Observer . Festive , along with its official music video, was released on September 20.

The track was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Raj-P. QQ, whose given name is Kareem Dawkins, is popular for tracks such as One Drop, Rum Ram, and Stookie . He noted that the newest collaboration with IQ came about organically.

“The song is about having fun. It’s about a girl telling you what she wants and, being the fun person that I am, I’m like, ‘Alright, that’s what you want, that sounds festive!’ I was in the studio with bro and he just decided to conceptualise the idea,” he said. Meanwhile, IQ — who has been back and forth between Jamaica and the UK — said the project is yet another treat for their fan bases.

“I don’t really have any [specific] hopes for the song. I just love giving great music to my fans and supporters,” he told the Observer . Like QQ, the entertainer, whose real name is Cairo Dawkins, noted that he enjoyed working with his sibling.

“It’s always fun doing songs with my brother. We just have crazy connection when it comes to music,” IQ shared. IQ is globally known for the single Bun Fi Bun featuring Stefflon Don.
