School buses are back on the road. The leaves are starting to fall. And autumn's favorite band of spices – allspice, clove, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg – are back to work, in everything from lattes to chicken wings.

Seasonal fall flavors are back at many local cafés, bars, ice cream shops and restaurants. Here's where you'll find favorites like pumpkin spice, apple and chai on local menus. Public Espresso offers such seasonal beverages as pumpkin oat chai with a nutmeg garnish.



Pumpkin spice Pumpkin spice lattes are on the seasonal menu at nearly every local coffee shop (and most of the chains). Remedy House (429 Rhode Island St.) makes a top-notch version with housemade pumpkin spice syrup that isn't too overpowering.

Pair with the café's pumpkin spice mascarpone-stuffed French toast. Public Espresso (391 Washington St. and 2178 Seneca St.

) also makes a more pumpkin-forward, less-sugary PSL with a medley of fall spices, including anise. Blue Eyed Baker (636 E. Fillmore Ave.

, East Aurora) has a vanilla pumpkin pie shaken espresso with vanilla bean syrup, pumpkin pie sauce, pumpkin spice, espresso and milk. 49 Coffee House (various locations) wields its pumpkin flavors in many ways, including within a pumpkin spice cold brew with caramel and oat milk. Mojo Market (3030 Delaware Ave.

) makes a vegan pumpkin spice frappe with espresso, housemade pumpkin spice syrup, coffee and sweetened coconut milk. Julie’s Pizzeria (12 E. Main St.

, Springville) is reprising its pumpki.
