Rising talent itoldLexi shines on new single ‘Time’. Born and raised in Chicago but now based in the UK, itoldLexi is part of a new wave of soulful voices twisting R&B tropes into individual shapes. Her single ‘444 (Extended)’ landed earlier this year, and she’s played key showcase events around the country.
Hitting London venue Stereo tonight – November 19th – for an intimate set, itoldLexi will be able to show off something new for fans. Out now, ‘Time’ revels in luxuriant sound, with itoldLexi’s perfectly poised vocal – shades of Brandy, a note or two of ChloexHalle – exuding emotion at every turn. . As the end of each year rolls around, I’m reminded of how quickly time passes and how much things change. With every year, I find myself craving stability more than ever, especially when everything feels overwhelming.
People always say change is good, but I need more time to process it all, to find my footing. ‘Time’ is about learning to accept my feelings and trusting that, no matter how much changes, I’ll find my way. Releasing ‘Time’ as the last song of 2024 feels just right – marking the passage of another year while embracing the unknown.
