Wednesday, November 13, 2024 ITA Airways, the flagship carrier of Italy, has officially launched ticket sales for its new direct route connecting Rome Fiumicino to Tripoli Mitiga. This highly anticipated service is set to commence on January 12, 2025. The Rome-Tripoli route will feature two weekly flights, operating on Thursdays and Sundays.
The schedule is as follows: Libya holds strategic significance for ITA Airways, which aims to strengthen Italy’s presence in the region by supporting the many Italian companies involved in major industrial projects within the country. The re-establishment of this direct flight was made possible through the invaluable cooperation of Italy’s Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Ministry of Transport, along with civil aviation authorities from both nations, including ENAC and the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority. This collaboration underscores ITA Airways’ commitment to facilitating stronger ties between Italy and Libya.
