Friday, August 30, 2024 Italian carrier ITA Airways has expanded its network with the launch of a new direct service connecting Rome with Jeddah, Saudi Arabia . The inaugural flight marks another significant milestone in ITA Airways’ strategy to strengthen its presence in the Middle East, following its recent introduction of direct flights between Rome and Riyadh . The new route, which officially commenced operations this week, will be serviced by the airline’s modern A321neo aircraft .

These planes are configured with three cabin classes: business class , offering 12 seats for those seeking premium comfort; premium economy , also with 12 seats, providing an enhanced experience; and economy class , which accommodates 141 passengers. Flights on this route will operate three times a week , with departures from Rome Fiumicino Airport scheduled at 15:05 local time . The flights will arrive at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport at 21:10 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays .



The return journey from Jeddah is set to depart at 03:30 , arriving back in Rome at 07:00 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays , offering convenient connections for both business and leisure travelers. The launch of this Rome-Jeddah route comes as ITA Airways continues to build its network in the region. It follows the airline’s successful debut of direct flights between Rome and Riyadh in June.

Looking ahead, ITA Airways is set to further expand its Middle Eastern services with the introduction of a new Rome-Dubai route , slated to commence on 27 October . This expansion underscores ITA Airways’ commitment to enhancing connectivity between Italy and key destinations in the Middle East, catering to growing demand for both business and leisure travel. With the addition of Jeddah and the upcoming Dubai service , ITA Airways is positioning itself as a major player in the competitive European-Middle Eastern aviation market .
