Eric Daman , the costume designer for the new movie It Ends With Us , is opening up about one of the most iconic looks that Blake Lively wore in the movie. It Ends With Us wasn’t the first time Eric and Blake worked together. The two were also paired during Blake’s iconic role as Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl .

In an interview with Variety , Eric explained why he enjoys working with Blake so much, “We get to have access to an incredible closet. She loves to wear beautiful things.” Blake is known for her stylish looks on the red carpet, so it’s no surprise that her closet is just as stylish.
In fact, a lot of her character, Lily Bloom’s, outfits were taken directly from the actress’ closet! One of the film’s most important pieces of clothing came not from Blake’s closet, but instead directly from eBay. Eric tells Variety that he found the pair of Carhartt overalls that Blake wears in the rooftop scene on eBay of all places! “I found it dumpster diving on eBay and it was the perfect fit. It’s pure fire, and one of my favorite looks in the film,” He expressed his excitement over the overalls.
The rooftop scene is what sets the movie into motion with it being Lily and Ryle’s first time meeting. They meet on the top of his building and that’s when you see Lily wearing the overalls! He and Blake were on the same page too, he says that she also referenced the Carhartt brand when they were discussing costumes. Eric says that one of the most difficult parts of putting together this specific ensemble was that, “A lot of Carhartt pieces you’ll find online are 3XL, 4XL, so we had to cut that down so it doesn’t feel like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, which is not the look.
” He explained before continuing, “It took a lot of thrifting and shopping and hunting, but the thrill of the hunt is really what it’s all about, and that’s really a fantastic part of what we get to do as costume designers.” His passion for costume design doesn’t go unnoticed and for anyone who’s seen the movie already, they can attest to how stunning the designs truly are! While Blake had her hand in the costumes, she also claimed that her husband, Ryan Reynolds , helped with writing the iconic rooftop scene.
