Read our Privacy Policy If you were planning on doing some PC gaming on this fine August evening, then do we have some bad news for you. Steam servers are currently down, leaving PC users unable to connect to the network and play games online. The Steam server status makes grim reading for fans, who have complained about not being able to access the network.

Independent website Down Detector has received thousands of reports that Steam isn't working. The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world. The Down Detector outage map shows that the Steam issues are affecting users in the UK, Europe and the US.

Judging by the reports, it appears to be routine maintenance, and the servers should be back online soon. Fingers crossed. More to follow.
