OVER the years Fred Sirieix has cemented himself as a much-loved TV star. The maitre d' of the First Dates restaurant's daughter is now riding high at Paris 2024 , after scooping a bronze medal in diving. Here we look at his family life away from the spotlight.
As of August 2024, Fred Sirieix is engaged but not yet married. The First Dates and First Dates Hotel star confirmed his engagement to his partner, who is known only as Fruitcake , in March 2020. Fred had first announced his relationship with Fruitcake - whose real name has never been revealed - in January 2018.
The couple have since appeared on screen together as they joined the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox in May 2022. Fred and Fruitcake were initially due to get married in 2021, but have had to delay the celebrations due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Sun reported in early 2022 that the lovebirds were planning a Jamaican wedding but they are yet to tie the knot.
According to Fred, who spoke about his plans to wed Fruitcake in the I'm a Celebrity jungle, their nuptials will take place in 2024. After her fiance's admission, Fruitcake told The Sun she was shocked that Sirieix had revealed their plans so publicly. She said: "I was shocked and there was some people saying when are the invites coming out?" Fred is very private about his own love life and his general life before fame.
He does not share lots of personal details with fans but, back in 2016, the Frenchman did reveal that he had never been married before. The star, who is known for his road trips with Gordon Ramsay and Gino D'Campo, explained that the closest thing to marriage he has had was his 12-year relationship with a woman simply known as Alex. It has since been reported the woman he was referring to was Alex Spendolini, the mother of his two children.
Fred has two children with his previous partner Alex; daughter Andrea and son Lucien. Andrea is a professional diver who in 2020 claimed the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year. She made her Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 games as part of Team GB's 12-person diving squad, coming seventh in the 10m platform event.
Sirieix's daughter has also won at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in the 10m platform event, and came second in the European Aquatics Championships mixed synchronised event in 2021. In 2022, she won double European gold in the 10m platform and 10m synchro. During the same summer she also picked up two Commonwealth titles in the 10m platform and 10m mixed synchro, as well as taking home her first medal at the World Championships - a bronze in the 10m synchro In the 2024 World Championships in Doha, she won bronze in the 10m platform and 10m synchro, as well as bring home the gold in the mixed team event.
In July 2024, Andrea won bronze at Paris 2024 , with her diving partner Lois Toulson in the women's 10m synchro final. Andrea' brother, Lucien, is five years younger than her and has stayed more out of the spotlight. Fred has previously revealed that it was love at first sight for him and Fruitcake.
He said of their first meeting: "I was walking down the street, and we just started talking and went for a drink together – and that was that. "We were just in the right place. There was a kiss at the end, too.
