Earlier today, posters started popping up in London 's Brick Lane teasing a potential Tyler, the Creator x Supreme collaboration. While nothing is set in stone just yet, the wheatpastings show T,TC wearing a box logo tee (or ‘bogo,’ for short). Which isn't a full-throated campaign launch.

But something that is getting the internet a little excited is the fact that we've never, ever seen this particular bogo before. Maybe it's time to hit up your plug. Supreme 's bogo T-shirts have been a mainstay for the streetwear brand since 1994.

Even though its design is super clean and super minimal, it's always the piece that sells out first. But why? Well, the New York City imprint has gone through countless changes over the past few decades (it's even been bought out twice ), but the one thing that has always stayed the same is the classic box logo. It hails from a pre-internet era when things were so much simpler, and while most of Supreme's stuff is very graphic-heavy, the bogo has always been super easy to wear.

“Now we live in a world where bogo hoodies are among the most sought-after items of clothing in the world, and rebellious Supreme has shared its DNA with luxurious Louis Vuitton,” wrote hardcore Supreme stan Boyd Hilton in a 2019 issue of GQ . “This was the last straw for some Supreme fans, who recoiled at the idea of splurging 40-grand on a skateboard trunk. But for [me].

.. [it's] all part of the fun.

” For Tyler 's potential version, he seems to have taken some inspo from his Mr Green Hat nickname, which he references in 2009's ‘Session’ track. And he's made more explicit references to the brand before. In 2010, his track ‘Orange Juice’ gives a specific shout out to Supreme: “Box Logo hoodies and goodies, from buddies that understand that bastard was buzzing like Woody, so we get it for free.

” And a year later, the Grammy Award-winning artist wore a tie-dyed box logo to the MTVU Woodie Awards, and a leopard print Supreme cap while accepting the award for Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards. So, could a Tyler, the Creator x Supreme collab be coming soon? Probably. Should it have happened a lot sooner? Definitely.

But better later than never, right?.
