Monday, September 16, 2024 Tourism Ireland hosted top British coach operators for a B2B workshop and tour, showcasing Ireland’s premier attractions as they prepare for 2025 travel programs. Sixteen leading British coach operators recently visited Ireland as special guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. Their trip was centered around participating in a B2B workshop in Limerick, where they networked with approximately 45 tourism companies from across Ireland to discuss potential deals for their 2025 programs.

In addition to the workshop, the tour operators embarked on an immersive fact-finding mission, allowing them to personally experience Ireland’s diverse and high-quality tourism offerings. Their itinerary featured a visit to The Keadeen Hotel, along with a private behind-the-scenes tour of The Curragh Racecourse. In Galway, they enjoyed the Trad on the Prom show in Salthill, explored Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden, and took a scenic boat tour of Killary Fjord.

The group then traveled to Mayo, where they visited Westport House, participated in a hands-on soda bread-making experience with The Irish Soda Bread Way, and toured the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life. Their journey also included a stop at Foxford Woollen Mills and a walking tour of Westport. Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain , said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these leading British tour operators to Ireland, to see and experience some of our many visitor attractions and to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their existing programmes and itineraries, or to include the island of Ireland for the first time in their 2025 programmes.

“Tourism Ireland is rolling out an extensive programme of promotional activity in Britain this autumn – highlighting compelling reasons to visit the island of Ireland. Our autumn campaign aims to take advantage of late booking trends, as there is still plenty of business to play for. One of our key objectives is to drive more business to our regions, right throughout the off-peak and shoulder season months.
