New classified reports and documents from the United Nations Security Council and a company supplying arms and armored vehicles to a section of conflict riddled African countries has revealed how contravention of law on arms is undergoing unabated. The company, STREIT GROUP FZE AND STREIT MIDDLE EAST FZCO, one of the world’s largest private armored vehicle manufacturers is on the spot for its involvement in arms embargo violations and is under American and United Nations Security Council Sanctions. Guerman Goutorov is the chairman of the UAE-based Streit Group.

Streit has production facilities around the world, though most of its armored vehicles are produced in the United Arab Emirates, where Goutorov lives and the company does much of its business. The documents and reports obtained by the Kenyan Foreign Policy indicates supply of over 173 Vehicles to sanctioned countries, in a meticulous analysis where the UN utilized their intelligence to find out where the vehicles were and who supplied them as they noticed unusual movement of troops. The matter, which has now been brought to the attention of AFRIPOL and Africa’s 55 countries, is expected to ignite calls for opening of criminal charges against the company.
