Lifelong Lorain resident Jevon Terance has returned to the Lorain Public Library System Main Branch, 351 W. Sixth St., as a Maker-In-Residence, according to a news release.
Terance, CEO of Jevon Terance Fashion Line, which was founded in 2007, has grown from a passionate hobby to a recognizable brand that has been shown at Fashion Weeks all over the world, including New York, Paris and Los Angeles, the release said. While most of his work focuses on everyday wear, he has created some high fashion runway pieces, according to the release. Terance, who has a boutique at 625 Broadway in downtown Lorain, previously served as the Main Branch’s Maker-In-Residence during the fall quarter of 2023 after utilizing the location’s Create Space to make one of his lines, which focused on the fusion of technology and art come to life, the release said.
“It started with the 101 programs,” Terance said in the release. “I came in to learn about the machinery and the software and became interested in acrylics and the laser cutter. “There was a blazer that was featured in New York that actually had the Jevon Terance logo cut into the buttons.
” Terance’s workshops will include a Sewing Series, which runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov.
