Friday, August 30, 2024 InterGlobe Enterprises, the largest shareholder of IndiGo airline, has launched its boutique lifestyle hotel brand, Miiro, in Paris and Barcelona, with plans to expand further across Europe in the coming years, according to a top official. Neena Gupta, CEO of Miiro, revealed that the Le Grand Hotel Carye in Paris began operations in July, followed by Borneta in Barcelona this month. The entry-level luxury brand is set to continue its expansion, with new properties planned for London and Vienna in 2025.

Templeton Garden, located in the leafy Earl’s Court area of London, will feature 156 rooms, a cafe-deli, a neighborhood restaurant, a lively bar, and an outdoor dining experience in a large garden oasis, scheduled to open in the spring of 2025. In Vienna, Miiro is planning to open two strategically located hotels with over 200 rooms, marking the brand’s next major step in its European expansion. Miiro has ambitious growth plans, with additional openings scheduled for 2026.



InterGlobe, the majority shareholder of IndiGo, has a diverse hospitality division with hotels in India and abroad. It collaborates with the French hospitality group Accor for its Indian operations, encompassing approximately 7,000 rooms across 30 hotels. Miiro operates as a 100% subsidiary of InterGlobe.

Gupta, who also serves as the Executive Director of Group Strategy and International Hospitality at InterGlobe Enterprises, stated that the group’s international hospitality portfolio now includes over 2,000 rooms across 13 hotels spread across 11 countries, including a 240-room establishment located in Melbourne, Australia. The venture began with the acquisition of a 417-room hotel at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam in 2018, followed by the 278-room Reichshof Hotel in Hamburg, Germany. In 2019, the company acquired 10 hotels from Austrian chain K+K Hotels Elisabeta, spanning Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Spain, and the UK.

The 123-room property in Barcelona’s El Born neighborhood has been fully renovated, with each of the 92 rooms and suites individually designed, drawing inspiration from the area’s warm tones and the city’s vibrant color palette..
