As summer draws to a close, the British Vogue team partnered with The Platinum Card® from American Express to throw a very special supper club at beloved London restaurant, Toklas. On Tuesday evening, friends of Vogue flocked to The Strand for an evening of seasonal vegetable-forward dishes, expertly paired with fine wines chosen by the restaurant’s sommelier, Agustina Basilico Miara. Hosted by British Vogue ’s deputy features director, Olivia Marks, the night kicked off with kumquat martinis, Franck Pascal Champagne, Belazu olives and friggitelli peppers before guests were guided to their seats.

Miara chose four wines from across the globe to pair with each course, and talked diners through each glass. It wouldn’t be a Vogue soiree without some familiar faces in attendance, too: former Vogue cover star Alexa Chung, West End phenomenon Martins Imhangbe, 16 Arlington’s Marco Capaldo and It’s a Sin favourite Lydia West revelled in head chef Chris Shaw’s contemporary culinary delights. (Toklas’s chips have been described by one critic as “the very best chips ever” .



) What’s more? Attendees left with a jam-packed gift bag stocked with beauty and wellness treats as well as a copy of British Vogue ’s September 2024 issue, starring a Prada-clad Kylie Jenner on the cover. Step inside the event, below..
