Carol Driver visits manor house in Somerset that has become a hit with A-listers READ MORE: The frustrating reasons fans are boycotting Christmas markets revealed By CAROL DRIVER Published: 03:42 EST, 23 November 2024 | Updated: 03:49 EST, 23 November 2024 e-mail View comments As the striking building of Winscombe Court comes into sight as the gates to the estate close behind our car, it's very clear to see why this 10-bedroom, sprawling manor house has become a hit with A-listers and billionaires. Not only are we in one of the country's few Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Somerset, but the property owners - Lester and Josephine Fernando - have spent an impressive more than £2million refurbishing the 1760s home to an outstanding standard. It has the 'wow factor' as soon as you set eyes on the two-acre grounds, complete with an indoor swimming pool and spa, outside tennis court, putting green, kids' treehouse and multi-layered gardens bursting with glorious blooms.
Inside delivers the same jaw-dropping impact. Immaculately decorated rooms with high ceilings mix old with new designs and furniture, with an 18th-century ballroom transformed into a magnificent dining room, a billiards room, and enough hiding places and entertainment to keep kids engaged for hours. I'm visiting with my family for the weekend to see how the other half REALL.
