Steven Gerrard left his role as Aston Villa manager back in 2023 to take charge of Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, with his wife Alex and their children choosing to live in Bahrain Since Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard took up a job in the Middle East, his wife Alex has been living a life of luxury. Gerrard , the former Reds captain, was appointed as the manager of Saudi Arabian team Al-Ettifaq in July 2023 after being let go by Aston Villa. He managed to secure several high-profile players last summer, including ex-Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson , and extended his contract until 2027 at the start of this year.

The legendary Liverpool midfielder signed a lucrative deal with the Saudi Pro League Club, reportedly earning £15 million per year, reports the Mirror . This makes him one of the highest-paid coaches globally, but his family chose not to live in Saudi Arabia despite being offered a house in Damman. Instead, his wife Alex and their four children are based in Bahrain.

The Gulf nation is conveniently located near Damman, where Al-Ettifaq is headquartered, allowing Alex Gerrard, formerly Curran, and their family to lead a glamorous lifestyle. The Gerrards are said to reside in a luxurious villa in the Hamala village. Their home, which costs about £10,000 per month, boasts a swimming pool and games room, and is situated near members of the Bahraini Royal family .

Former model and fashion columnist Curran and Gerrard started their relationship in 2002 and tied the knot five years later. Since relocating to the Middle East, it's been reported that the 41-year-old enjoys her time at the Bahrain World Trade Center in Manama, home to luxury fashion brands, and The Avenues, a waterfront shopping centre. Despite Al-Ettifaq manager Gerrard dividing his time between two countries, the couple still find ways to enjoy family life.

They hold memberships at the exclusive Four Seasons, which features the Cut restaurant by Michelin star chef Wolfgang Puck, and the Ritz Carlton, where Premier League games are shown in an open-air bar. The family has also been seen spending time at the Bahrain rugby club. The pair have four children: Lilly-Ella, 20, Lexie, 18, Lourdes, 12, and Lio, 7.

Their youngest kids attend a prestigious English language school in Bahrain, with fees nearing £11k per child. Gerrard's coaching responsibilities involve an hour-long commute from Hamala to Damman, including a 15-mile causeway journey between the two countries. Even though the family doesn't reside in Saudi Arabia, it seems the Gerrards have managed to strike a work-life balance, with Steven committed to Al-Ettifaq until 2027.
