The show, which first aired on BBC Wales in May, has now secured a 7pm slot on BBC Two and the series will follow the wildlife presenter as he explores areas in and around the Swansea Valley.

In the opening episode, Iolo, 61, will embark on a journey along the Upper Clydach river in search of a Dipper's nest hidden beneath a rock overhang. And as the series progresses, viewers can expect to see Iolo encounter a Black Tailed Skimmer, Water Voles, a Buzzard, and Adders sunbathing next to a rugby club in the central valleys. Iolo is best known for his work on BBC's The Watches, Winterwatch, Springwatch, and Autumnwatch, and he joined the popular wildlife series as a regular presenter in 2019.



However, last year he had to withdraw from presenting Springwatch after he suffered a heart attack during a six-mile run in the countryside. His published books include Blwyddyn Iolo (2003), Crwydro (2004), Wild about the Wild (2005), Wild Places Wales (2016), and Wild Places UK (2019).

The treatment involves inserting a short, wire mesh tube that acts like a scaffold, called a stent, to widen and open up narrowed or blocked arteries supplying the heart muscle. The procedure comes with risks such as damage to arteries, allergic reactions and excessive bleeding, according to the NHS. He revealed to his followers: 'I had a heart attack and it was very unexpected.

' 'I keep fit, I've been playing rugby ever since I was 45, I run two to three times a week.' Iolo had a stent inserted in April but complications with a clot forced him to pull out of the nature-lover favourite show. At the time he said: 'My demise has been greatly exaggerated; thanks to brilliant friends, wonderful family & the excellent NHS.
