RTE star Brendan Courtney has jetted off to the Azores islands for an incredible getaway. The Irish designer has been sharing snippets of his trip on Instagram and the views look truly "magical". On Monday, Brendan posted a stunning video of a scenic hike he endured on the island.

At the start of the clip, the popular presenter revealed some magnificent views of the green mountains and clear rivers surrounding him. While walking around the nature trail he said: "Hi guys, so this is Lake Lago, which is 900 meters above sea level, so I've come right up into the mountains." The Irish star then attached a beautiful snap of himself posing with his hiking gear on with the majestic island scenery in the background.

In another video, the 53-year-old looked exhausted as he told fans that he was making his way back down the mountain. He then showed off the steep wooden stair case that circled all the way around the mountain and joked: "It's a killer." And to wind down after his hectic hike around the mountain, Brendan shared some clips from the spectacular seaside where he went for an evening dip.

The gorgeous pier area was packed full of people swimming and diving and had a cool restaurant overhanging the sea. Yesterday, the Dublin man took on another exciting excursion as he took a boat out of the island to go "whale watching". A fantastic clip revealed some whales circling around the boat and coming up to the water level.

Brendan captioned his video: "Whale watching glimpses #azores." Recently, the clothing designer said he "changed his mind" on his home renovations after making some "crazy decisions". The Irish star recently bought a "tiny" 80's bungalow in Wicklow Town to be nearer his sister , who's recovering from brain and lung cancer .

Brendan and his partner Adam Maryniak will be stepping away from Dublin City, where they currently reside, to live beside the seaside. The TV personality signed a contract to work with Larkrock Green Homes, who are going to run the entire SEAI grant. The Keys To My Life star has been sharing updates on the renovations so far over on his Instagram.

The 53-year-old was back on the site recently to finalise the layout of the home. The popular presenter explained: "I kinda had changed my mind over the positioning of some of the walls and entries for the house." Brendan went to the building site and marked out where some of the walls would go for the rooms to see if it worked.

He explained: "My architect came and was a sort of father figure, over viewing my crazy decisions and was telling me what would and wouldn't work. "It was like playing grown up Sims, I actually loved the process of 'moving' the walls.".
