Cruise company Royal Caribbean is known for its mammoth cruise ships, which always top lists for being the world's largest. Now one of its older ships , Allure of the Seas which was launched in 2009, is getting a revamp. A total of $100 million will be spent to make over the ship, which will initially sail from Barcelona in Spain for seven night cruises .

Jay Schneider, the firm's Chief Product Innovation Officer, said " Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travellers love. "Between new favourites, like the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, and experiences that unlock core memories time and time again, from an incredible pool deck to an unmatched combination of thrills and ways to chill, Allure will have even more of everything that makes it a standout favourite." Resort-style pools are at the centre of the action on the reimagined Caribbean pool deck, alongside a wider variety of seating and shade across casitas, in-pool loungers and daybeds. The Cyclone and Typhoon racing waterslides and the SuperCell champagne bowl, maxes out on thrill with twists and turns for those bored of sun lounging. For a laidback adults-only escape, the Solarium introduces new touches, complete with the favourite Samba Grill and dedicated bars.

A transformation of the teen space, Social298 boasts video games, music, movies and plenty of ways to kick back with new friends. If you want a really special cabin, splash out on the new Ultimate Panoramic Suites above Allure's bridge, with 200-degree ocean views. The ship holds 6780 passengers.

 Making its way to Allure following a standout debut on the new Utopia of the Seas , Caribbean tiki bar Pesky Parrot serves up fruit-based cocktails made with rum, tequila and gin, alongside frozen drinks. Fancy a slide but don't like water? This adrenaline-pumping experience offers a memorable 10 stories of twists, turns, lights and sounds. Allure will be one of six Royal Caribbean ships sailing from five destinations in Europe for summer 2025 before heading to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2025.
