Not everyone can say that Oasis icon compared them to and . But that was the unfortunate case for Sara MacDonald – the ex-wife of – who had a rocky relationship with her former brother-in-law. Many insults have been exchanged between the two but perhaps the most astonishing came when Liam tweeted in 2018: “Had a severe chest infection since Paris not long now Sara as you were LG x.
” And questioned why he named his then-sister-in-law, he savagely replied: “Coz I need to let the world know she’s up there with Putin.” Sara and Noel later announced their divorce in 2023 – one year before the brothers declared an Oasis reunion. And below, we look back at the strained relationship between Sara and her former brother-in-law.
Sara is now 51 and she was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is a fashion and music publicist. She met Noel after the songwriter chatted her up in a nightclub in Ibiza back in 2000. They eventually got married in 2011 and have two sons together, Donovan, 16, and Sonny, 14.

He told his fans how Noel was “rite up for it” but that “she doesn’t like oasis music [sic]”.
And writing on Twitter, now X, he also said: “Think it's time to address the witch you want me to drop dead you have a screw loose and know the world knows as you were LG x. “She's the reason OASIS is no longer have to put it out there she's DARK. “We were about to go on tour to USA she robbed Noel's passport f***ed with his head for a Wk he come crying at my door she's proper dark.
“Yeah now we're f***ing talking you want more. Cos if so I'm here all Wk.” Making another jaw-dropping comparison, he added: “Him and her are like Fred and Mary west wishing people get aids and drop dead as you f***ing were Oasis for life LG x.
” The swiping continued into 2019 after Sara called LIam a 'fat t**t' and a tribute act to reignite the war of words. It started when she praised Stormzy's Glastonbury performance by saying: “Murky killed it. What a f***ing dude.
Mesmerising.” And asked if she would also watch Liam take to the stage, she replied: “Think I’m going to swerve that. The fat t**t doing his tribute act, balancing a tambourine on his head is going to look pretty dated after Stormzy.
” Noel is also quoted as saying that he would never make amends with Liam because of the things he has said about his wife on social media. But with the divorce now finalised, Noel has now seemingly buried the hatchet with Liam, and the pair are set to go back on the road together for the first time in 15 years..
