Mayo GAA star Aidan O’Shea tied the knot with his partner Kristin McKenzie in a gorgeous Co Kerry wedding ceremony over the weekend, with glimpses of their big day being shared on social media. While Aidan failed to help his native county end their infamous losing streak in the All Ireland this year, losing to Derry on penalties in the preliminary quarter-finals, the 34-year-old has had a stellar year off the pitch. Happy couple Aidan and Kristin said ‘I do’ in front of their family friends in the beautiful Muckross Park Hotel , Killarney, on Friday, August 9.

Aidan sported a slick three-piece black and white tuxedo, which came with a classy dickie bow, while Kristin wore a square neckline bridal gown complete with a bow detail at the back. ‘Officially Mr & Mrs,’ she captioned the post with a love heart emoji.

A post shared by Gareth Lima Conlon – Wedding Photographer Ireland (@limaconlon) Award-winning wedding photographer Gareth Lima Conlon was on hand to capture all the big moments from the day, sharing a selection of his favourite images from the day on Instagram. Despite the majority of the nation battling miserable conditions, the weather stayed dry throughout the day, meaning Kirstin got to ‘beat the traffic’ by taking a helicopter to the church. Aidan swapped his black tuxedo jacket for a white one, with Kristin changing into a halter neck gown. A number of Aidan’s Mayo football teammates showed up to show their support for Aidan, including goalkeeper Rob Hennelly. The shot-stopper, who was joined by his wife Orla Lorenza, served as Aidan’s best man for the day.

‘Had to steal the best man for a pic. Magical day for @kristin_mckenzie_vass and @aidoxi,’ Orla wrote on Instagram alongside a wholesome snap of the pair. Also in attendance for the ceremony was Mayo footballer Conor Loftus, former player Keith Higgins and the Minister of State for Planning and Local Government Alan Dillon.
