MINDEN, La. -- Local and state law enforcement officers are currently hunting for a man who escaped from custody shortly after 2 p.m.

today. Minden Chief of Police Jared McIver said 52-year-old Bobby Lee Parks managed to escape from the Minden Medical Center Emergency Room where he had been taken following his arrest by Louisiana State Police. Parks is described as a black male, 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighing 350 pounds.



He was wearing a neon green shirt and black pants at the time of his escape. His direction of travel from the hospital is unknown. McIver said Parks was inadvertently released from prison in Texas where he was serving a 10-year sentence.

“We’re asking our citizens and businesses to be on the lookout for this man,” McIver said. “If anyone has seen him, please contact our office or any law enforcement agency as quickly as possible.”.
