Saturday, October 5, 2024 On Saturday, passengers flying with IndiGo, India’s largest airline by domestic market share, experienced long wait times at airports due to a network-wide system outage. The outage, which affected the airline’s website and booking system, caused a slowdown in check-ins and baggage drop services, leading to extended queues and delays for travelers. IndiGo reported that the issue was impacting operations across its entire network, resulting in slower processing times for passengers.

The airline’s airport teams were fully engaged, working hard to assist passengers and minimize disruptions. Efforts were being made to restore the system to normal operations as quickly as possible. Passengers were urged to remain patient as the airline worked to resolve the situation and ensure that the inconvenience caused would be addressed promptly.

Despite the temporary setback, IndiGo remains focused on providing a seamless travel experience. As of October 2024, IndiGo operates flights to 120 short-haul destinations, including 88 domestic routes within India and 35 international destinations across Asia, Africa, and Europe. With such an extensive network, the recent system outage may not only be causing delays at check-ins and baggage drops but could also potentially affect flight schedules across both domestic and international routes.

As IndiGo is India’s largest airline, holding a 62% domestic market share as of August 2024, any disruption in its operation.
