The Hotel Association of India (HAI) has launched a groundbreaking partnership with nine prominent hotel chains to mentor hospitality institutes across the nation. Announced during the World Tourism Day 2024 celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar gracing the event as the chief guest, this initiative aims to close the gap between industry needs and academic training, fundamentally transforming hospitality education in India.

Among the nine participating groups are renowned HAI members such as The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, ITC Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotels, Radisson Hotel Group, and Marriott International. Their collaboration underscores the significance of this initiative, which seeks to provide students with hands-on industry experience aligned with the ever-evolving demands of the hospitality sector. Central to the initiative is a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between these hotel groups and the Ministry of Tourism’s national council.

This agreement aims to tackle the existing disconnect between educational curricula and industry expectations by offering mentorship from experienced professionals. Hotel management students will benefit from firsthand insights into the industry’.
