5 Top Spots In Kanyakumari You Should Add To Your Bucket ListKanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India, has added a new tourist landmark to its bevy of experiences - India's first glass bridge. Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated this architectural marvel that now connects two of Kanyakumari's most iconic landmarks—the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the towering 133-foot Thiruvalluvar statue. The bridge, claimed to be the first of its kind, promises travelers a very unique experience - you can practically walk above the waves.

The announcement came with a video shared by the Chief Minister on X (formerly Twitter), where he described the bridge as a celebration of Tamil culture, innovation, and progress. India's First Glass Bridge Over The Sea Spanning 77 meters in length and 10 meters in width, this glass bridge was built at a cost of ₹37 crore, and its bowstring arch design is tailored to endure the coastal elements while offering visitors uninterrupted views of the ocean below. Walking across the glass floor is an experience like no other—thrilling, breathtaking, and undeniably memorable.

The inauguration was also symbolic as it coincided with the silver jubilee of the Thiruvalluvar statue's unveiling. This towering statue, a tribute to Tamil culture and wisdom, was inaugurated 25 years ago by the late Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

The new bridge hence serves as a nod to the region's heritage. All About Kanyakumari Kanyakumari, historically known as Cape Comorin, ha.
