Barrett was reelected with 38,734 votes, or 54.21% of the total, while Krakower pulled in 29,378 votes, or 41%, as of Wednesday afternoon, according to unofficial results from the state Board of Elections. “I want to thank the voters of the 106th Assembly District for this solid victory,” Barrett said in a statement.
“I love this beautiful district and it remains my greatest honor to fight for my constituents and the values we all share — protecting our rights, ensuring a greener future, and creating a more affordable Hudson Valley!” In Columbia County, Barrett won 14,031 votes, or 61.36%. Krakower won 8,782 votes, or 38.

Rep. Marc Molinaro stepped down early from his Assembly seat after being elected to the Dutchess County Legislature. In November 2012, she won her first full term in the Assembly, and this will be her sixth term in the assembly.
Barrett lives in Claverack and has two children. She chairs the Assembly’s Energy Committee and is a member of its Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force, Women’s Issues Task Force, the Environmental Conservation Committee, the Agriculture Committee, the Legislative Women’s Caucus and the Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development Committee. She said a sixth term in the Assembly would allow her to resume her work in the dis.
