DETROIT LAKES — Incumbent Wendy Spry is running for a second term representing Ward 2 on the Detroit Lakes City Council and is up against two challengers: Amber Abraham and Marga Ybarra. All three candidates were given a list of identical questions by the Detroit Lakes Tribune. The candidates were encouraged to write as little or as much as they wanted.

While candidates’ biographical information was summarized, their answers were left unchanged except for light editing for grammar, spelling, clarity and stylistic standards where applicable. ADVERTISEMENT All city candidates were emailed questionnaires except for Mayor Matt Brenk and Ward 1 City Council member Ron Zeman, both of whom are running unopposed in their respective races. mn.us/. Amber Abraha Amber Abraham has been married for 20 years and she and her husband have lived in Detroit Lakes for 19 years, where they have raised their children.

Their two sons are starting their adult lives and their daughter is 16. Abraham has been in the civil engineering field for 22 years, her current position is in project management. She also enjoys volunteering and fundraising for the community.
