Friday, August 16, 2024 IBTM the premier global exposition for the meetings and events sector,( Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings) has unveiled initial details of its 2024 Association Leaders Forum. This forum is a collaboration with the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) and receives backing from the Amsterdam Convention Bureau. The program, a leader in the industry, will tackle both practical and strategic challenges that associations encounter today.

It will focus on striking a balance between executive governance, risk management, and the need for innovation and adaptation to global challenges to nurture a prosperous future for the association industry. Scheduled for the first day, the forum aligns with the IBTM World 2024 theme: People.Power.



Potential. This theme aims to delve into how the power of people can be amplified through new technologies. The discussions will cover the integration of AI into strategic planning for associations, utilizing digital tools to enhance the impact, engagement, and financial sustainability of conferences and events, and maintaining a commitment to a more sustainable future.

Additionally, the forum will address strategies to prevent burnout by equipping teams with proper tools and training, preparing for significant electoral changes over the year, and providing insights on guiding association members and staff through complex geopolitical landscapes. Featured speakers include Martin Boyle, CEO of IAPCO; Liesbeth Switten, Secretary General at AIB-Association of Issuing Bodies and Vice-President of ESAE; Dianna Steinbach, Senior Vice-President of Growth at the Institute of Management Accountants; Bobby Peralta, CEO of the Philippine Council of Associations & Association Executives; Dennis Speet, Managing Director of the Amsterdam Convention Bureau; and Cecilia Delgado Molina, Executive Secretary of the International Sociological Association. The day will also feature networking opportunities, allowing participants to forge new professional relationships and reconnect with peers in the industry.
