FOR the first time in Solomon Islands, the New Zealand (NZ) High Commission Office in Honiara is organising a day along activity called ‘New Zealand festival’ next month as part of celebrating the partnership between the Solomons and New Zealand. A statement from the Office said, “the New Zealand Festival is happening for the first time in Honiara on Friday 13 September, 10am-6pm at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Central Honiara. “The New Zealand Festival will celebrate the whole New Zealand – Solomon Islands relationship: our community partnerships, commercial, trade and education connections, and joint love for music, culture, sport, and food.

” For students, families and the public the event is free. “Entry to the NZ Festival will be free and we’re looking to make the day fun for the whole family,” the statement said. At the festival a number of activities will be organised and on display for everyone.



These include: Live music and cultural entertainment, sports games and giveaways, bouncy castle, face painting and fun games for pikinini, free sausage sizzle and food vendors, market stalls and information booths. Mark the date if you have nothing to do and want to enjoy the day..
