If you need a refresher on this classic sitcom, Fran Drescher plays Fran Fine, a woman working in a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens when one day her boyfriend kicks her out in one of those crushing scenes.

 What was she to do? Where was she to go? She was out on her fanny. So over the bridge from Flushing to the Sheffield's door. She was there to sell make up but the father, Maxwell Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy) saw more.

She had style, she had flair and she was there. That's how she became the Nanny. Now, the father finds her beguiling, watch out C.

C (Lauren Lane), the egocentric business partner of Maxwell Sheffield, who is also in love with him. And now the kids Maggie (Nicholle Tom), Brighton (Benjamin Salisbury) and Gracie Madeline Zima are actually smiling. Such joie de vivre! The the lady in red when everybody else is wearing tan is supported by her mother Sylvia (Renée Taylor), best friend Val (Rachel Chagall) and often joined by Grandma Yetta (Ann Morgan Guilbert).

. Our countdown begins with the first episode of the second season. The children are heading back to school, but Brighton refuses to go back because he feels "small" compared to other boys in middle school.

Fran misconstrues this when Brighton tells her he was in the locker room at the time, to which Fran describes to Maxwell as being a "gherkin". Meanwhile Maxwell starts dating a woman, Leslie, who looks and sounds exactly like Fran. Fran has been dating a wealthy, handsome British-Jewish doctor named Jules Kimble.

After only two weeks, he asks her to marry him. Although having some doubts, Fran accepts after mum Sylvia strong-arms her. When they go shopping for a ring, Jules disappears with a very expensive ring.

Fran learns that he was actually a thief and now she is left all alone. She blames her mother for the disaster and the Fine women see a therapist (Cynthia L. James) to resolve their problems.

Maggie wants a new car, but since her father won't give her one she convinces Fran to enter a beauty pageant to win one for her. In the contest, Fran must drive a stick shift but doesn't know how, so Maxwell takes her into the country to teach her. Fran is traumatized after running over a bunny, and loses the contest.

To cheer her up, Maxwell invites her to accompany C.C. and him to a charity dinner at Barbra Streisand's house.

On their way, Maxwell has a stomachache, forcing Fran to drive. Later she realizes it was all a plan to make her get over her trauma. Now she has to go to Barbra's again, but to return the boot and purse she stole from her.

Val gets a new boyfriend and Fran goes through an unusual situation – her best friend has a date and she doesn't! When Val's boyfriend makes a move on Fran, she thinks it's just jealousy and goes out with C.C., but later Val's boyfriend goes a little too far.

points out that Andrew Lloyd Webber was featured in the paper's crossword puzzle, prompting Maxwell to hire a publicist to improve his image and make him more popular. He hires the gorgeous Sydney Mercer and radically changes his image to a middle-aged "bad boy". He starts to fall for Sydney, causing both Fran and C.

C. to become jealous. They set a date in the Rainbow Room, but Fran discovers at the last minute that Sydney is gay and is actually interested in her.

Fran rushes to meet with Maxwell, but they end up trapped in the elevator. Fran and Maxwell find themselves on a desert island after falling off their honeymoon yacht. Maxwell becomes ill after receiving a venomous insect bite and Fran is left to care for them both.

Somehow this leads to a steamy moment of passion. Meanwhile, back home, C.C.

turns Maxwell and Fran's disappearance into a media circus to milk the publicity. However, after a nightmare where reporters resembling Niles confront her with the fact that she wished misfortune on Fran at the wedding, she is guilt stricken and begins searching for them, accompanied by Sylvia. Fran and Maxwell are thrilled to tell the family that he finally told her that he loves her, and this time he didn't take it back! Everybody is happy for her (except for C.

C.) and congratulates Fran. Maxwell reveals to Niles that he bought an engagement ring and is going to propose to Fran that night.

He, of course, can't keep a secret and tells Fran, who tells Sylvia, in a chain reaction that results in virtually everybody knowing about it. All the Sheffield and Fine families gather and wait for Maxwell, who never arrives because he is mugged outside the theater. Afraid something happened, Fran searches and finds Mr.

Sheffield unconscious behind the theater knocked out by the thieves who stole his watch, his wedding ring and Fran's engagement ring. Nevertheless, he proposes to Fran. Fran couldn't be happier with Maggie's rich, handsome, Jewish, model boyfriend, but when they decide to share an apartment, Maxwell wants Fran to put her foot down.

Sylvia tells her brother-in-law (Zack Norman) and his daughter (Nancy Frangione) that Fran married Maxwell and invites them over to the Sheffield house while the family is at the museum to celebrate Brighton's class presidential victory. Fran joins in on the ruse and brings Niles in on it.

The situation becomes complicated when representatives from the Butlers Association come by to check Niles for evaluation and compounded even further when Maxwell and the kids return from the museum. Fran goes on a Christmas shopping spree, believing that she will receive a major bonus for the holidays. Meanwhile, Grace wallows as her father is about to miss another Christmas with the family.

When Fran receives a vase as her bonus, she is forced to pawn some belongings to make her payments. However, when she discovers the meaning behind the vase, Fran buys it back with her grandmother's watch. Fran decides to stop chasing men like Dr.

Miller told her. Sylvia doesn't like that and blames Maxwell for her daughter staying single forever. Fran, Val and C.

C. decide to go out together on a "girl's night", with no pressure to find a man, but after Val and C.C.

get dates, Fran finds herself as a fifth wheel on their double date. Alone, embarrassed and depressed, Fran goes home trying to act as if she had a great time with them, but can't. Once again, Maxwell and Fran find themselves alone, comforting each other.

Meanwhile, Dr. Miller tries hypnosis with Sylvia but that doesn't go too well. Fran, Val, and Gracie attend a taping of The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Fran is picked from the audience to talk to Rosie.

She is so natural and funny that Rosie asks her to appear on the show as a regular guest to give parenting advice. C.C.

jumps in as her agent, and Fran begins to experience life as a celebrity. Maxwell is concerned he may lose her and concocts a story about a dream he had where her grandmother's ghost told him something horrible would happen to Fran if she did not quit Rosie's show (a parody of the dream scene in Fiddler on the Roof ). Fran is soon fired and replaced by a retired couple (played by Fran Drescher's parents) from Florida.

This episode also contains special guest stars Donald Trump who famously has a fued with O'Donnell. This also wasn't O'Donnell's only appearnce on the show..

. Maxwell has Elizabeth Taylor over, and as with all celebrities, Fran cannot control herself until she meets her. A very friendly Elizabeth asks Fran to take her black pearls necklace to a courier, but Fran, with prompting from Sylvia (who is also desperate to meet Elizabeth), decides to handle the situation herself.

She takes a cab, and accidentally bumps her head against the window when the driver (Rosie O'Donnell) misses a red light. She wakes up in the hospital with amnesia, and believes that she is Mrs. Sheffield (which Maxwell cannot bring himself to correct).

However, news about an old rival restores Fran's memory, and she blurts out that she lost Elizabeth's pearls just as Maxwell enters. Fran and Maxwell return from their trip to Paris, and Fran could not be happier. Just as they arrive home, Maxwell takes back saying "I love you" to Fran, and she is devastated.

C.C. takes advantage of the fact that Fran is vulnerable and says Maxwell probably only hired her for her looks, which Max accidentally confirms when he tries to compliment Fran.

She decides to go to a singles bar with Val and meets a blind man, Jack (Jason Alexander). The idea of dating a blind man sounds nice to Fran, since it will serve as a proof that she is not merely a pretty face. After Jack ends things with her, she and Maxwell decide to remain just friends.

The Divine Miss Bette. Fran offers herself for the charity auction Maxwell is putting together with Bette Midler. A gifted 10-year-old pianist, son of a big investor, wins the auction for $5000 and receives a day with Fran as his babysitter.

Fran takes him to Yetta's retirement home and while entertaining the elderly with his piano skills, one senior collapses and dies in front of the boy. Shocked, he says he will never play again, and his father cancels his promised $5 million investment with Maxwell and Bette. Bette Midler goes to the mansion herself to teach Fran a lesson, but luckily Gracie picked up a few things from Fran over the past four years, and convinces the boy to play again and saves his father's investment.

Maggie skips out on gym class to avoid her tough teacher using Fran's advice: fake medical notes. When she is caught, Fran steps in to defuse the situation, only to find that Maggie's gym teacher Mrs. Wickervich (Rita Moreno) is the same teacher that Fran had in high school.

Moreno and Drescher would later go on to star together in the sitcom Happily Divorced . Stream every episode of The Nanny on Stan. Maxwell's childhood nanny Clara Mueller (Cloris Leachman) comes for a visit and begins taking over the Sheffield household, irritating Fran.

She critiques her parenting style and her demeanor while quashing Brighton's jokes and condemning Maggie's makeup. When she goes too far and causes Fran to make a dramatic change, Maxwell realizes that Clara has overstayed her welcome. Fran confronts Clara and later gets her a job working as C.

C.'s mother's caretaker. Meanwhile, Niles and Clara engage in an intense fling.

Mai Ling, the Cambodian girl Fran and Val "adopted" in high school, is coming to New York to visit. Sylvia doesn't like the girl, over whom Fran and Val fight, resulting in a split up between the two best friends. Sylvia thinks Mai will also come between Fran and Mr.

Sheffield, but Fran learns that Mai got engaged to Brighton to get a green card. Meanwhile, Maxwell thinks Niles is acting like Fran to gain attention. Stream every episode of The Nanny on Stan.

Fran's great-aunt dies and leaves Fran her coveted mink coat. Maggie's obsessive belief in animal rights prompts Fran to reject the coat, pitting her against her mother. Eventually Sylvia sells the coat to C.
