Young started her career in show business as a teenager by joining a TV talent search.
Since then, the actress has branched out to hosting and winning Miss World in 2013. Growing up in front of the camera, the Filipino-American actress-host is at ease when she talks about the idea of maturing. “It’s okay, I mean, it only goes to show that you [have lived] 34 years of your life,” Young shares candidly.
“I thought I had to do all these multiple steps to get the ideal skin that I wanted. Of course, when you are younger you want to go with the flow not knowing that there are consequences as you grow wiser.” She emphasizes the realization that taking care of herself must start now rather than later.
All decked in silver and black outfits, attendees at the launch event were treated to a detailed presentation on skin vitality and Neutrogena’s newest range. Sophia Custodio, senior brand manager, along with dermatologist Dr. Ayees Mendoza, highlighted the importance of early skincare intervention.
“Skin starts to age much earlier than we think, as early as our late 20s. This is the time when collagen production significantly drops, leading to visible signs [on the face],” explains Dr. Mendoza, adding that it is crucial to start an effective skincare routine that includes retinol to combat these changes.
As someone who has incorporated retinol and antioxidants into her skincare routine in her 30s, Young expressed her excitement over the new Neutrogena Visible Repair line, “It is a game-changer for me.
