99 Credit: Aldi Now, Aldi has released the results of a blind taste test for some of its newest bottles. Wine buffs unknowingly sampled new bubbly, red, white and rosé bottles from the supermarket. Hilariously, all of them actually believed they were sipping on £50 vino rather than £5 booze.

Aldi took to a royal show jumping event to catch the drinkers out. A video recorded at the event shows a flamboyant wine merchant – known as Justin Youraldi – pouring out glasses of red, white and rosé for event goers to taste. They thought they were sipping on exotic grapes from the world’s most exclusive vineyards, costing nearly 10 times the price.

However, they were actually enjoying Aldi wines priced as cheap as £4.99. Attendees at The Royal International Horse Show in West Sussex spoke eloquently about the aromas, balance, acidity and earthiness of the vino before the big price reveal.
