A SINGLE mum has shared the impressive makeover she gave her unloved bedroom to turn it into a sanctuary away from her kids. Keli Fletcher, from the UK, shared the results on social media and people were in awe of her hard work and how well she pulled it off. The bedroom looked bare as she showed off the zigzag pink patterned walls she had put up with for years.

Speaking to Fabulous, Keli revealed that as a single mum she always made her kids a priority first, she said: " As a single parent I always decorate the kids rooms first and usually always end up with their old furniture etc so they can have new, but decided it was time for mammy to have something new." Keli revealed she and her daughter recently swapped rooms so her child had more space to play in, and she decided it was time to make the room her own. She added to the Facebook post: "Decided to try panelling in my bedroom, as a single mum I wanted a sanctuary to escape the kids every now and then.

Once the panelling was done the mum moved on to creating a feature wall with a gorgeous bold floral pink and purple print she grabbed from The Range for £9.99. Once the wall paper was done she went on to paint the bottom half of the wall a shade of baby pink called Pressed Petal from Dulux and used the shade Timeless on the top half.

The bedside tables were from Ikea and she picked up a gorgeous white bedding set form Wilko for just £20. The room looked completely different from the one she first showed and her hard work surely paid off.

The post which was shared to the group, DIY On A Budget Official , went viral with hundreds of people liking Keli's bedroom makeover. They quickly took to the comments section to praise the mum for her DIY job. One person wrote: "Wow.
