Appearing to have forgotten there are cameras around the camp, and that all the celebrities are wearing mics, Dean dropped some tea bags in a pan and then tried to secretly offer cups of “hot water” to his campmates, including Coleen Rooney and Alan Halsall. Barry McGuigan initially refused a cup of what he thought was muddy water, but when he took a sip he realised it was a very welcome hot brew following a night when everyone in camp had dined on tasteless rice and beans. However, hosts Ant and De c hinted to viewers that such rule breaks would not be tolerated.

On the aftershow Unpacked on Wednesday night, when the tea bags were first spotted, Dec said: “Keep an eye on tea-gate,” as Ant added: “ That will be dealt with today , believe me.” Host Sam Thompson warned the pair: “You’ve got to penalise him for something, like somehow,” while Dec explained: “I think we’ve seen the tea, but we’re just checking that we’ve actually seen it. But the problem is, to penalise them we normally take food off of them, but they haven’t won any food.

” In the end, the celebrities were punished on Thursday, as Melvin Odoom return.
