Pritzker on the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago as he went after Donald Trump over his wealth. Speaking to supporters on Tuesday, Pritzker boasted of his own wealth — $3.5 billion , according to Forbes — as he swung at the MAGA leader.
" Donald Trump thinks that we should trust him on the economy because he claims to be very rich. But take it from an actual billionaire," he said, to applause. "Trump is rich in only one thing: stupidity!" Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown (D) pushed back on Newsmax host Rob Finnerty after he suggested that Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris owed her career to an "unsavory" relationship with him.
Brown spoke to Finnerty Tuesday as the Democratic National Committee held the second night of its convention . "You dated Kamala Harris for a brief time back in the 1990s," Finnerty explained. "Now she's on the verge of the White House .
The convention is happening in Chicago. To me, when I read about this story, that's the power of Willie Brown." Brown argued that Harris had been a key part of running the city when he was mayor.
"Without you, without your help, is Kamala where she is today?" the Newsmax host asked. "Absolutely," Brown stated. "She's there based on her skill set.
" "As I indicated, she was a part of the city attorney's office in San Francisco, and she earned every bit of everything she was involved in there, and that translates into much of what she talks about on the stage," he remarked. Finnerty suggested he doubted the former mayor's answer. "Because you know what the accusation is, and it might be unsavory, but it's that you were together, she was your, you were boyfriend and girlfriend, and you opened doors to her that otherwise wouldn't open up to somebody that young and maybe that inexperienced," the host opined.
"I don't see how you didn't give her a leg up." "I started his career by direct appointment, ultimately to an elective office, which is now translated into the mayorship of San Francisco, the lieutenant governorship of the state of California , and now the governorship of the state of California and maybe, just maybe, when Kamala Harris has finished her tenure as a president, he may very well be the president that we will next be involved with, and I started that.

m. ET hour, Palestine protesters marched into a line of riot police near Clinton and Madison streets, about three miles away from the United Center, where the prime-time events of the Democratic National Convention are taking place, and near Chicago's Israeli consulate. Police — some dressed in riot gear — targeted specific protesters and pulled them out of the crowd.

As the 10 p.m. ET hour neared, some protesters declared, "We’re going to fight our way out.
" Raw Story then witnessed police arrest at least two more protesters, who continued to clash with police. Many far-left protesters blame President Joe Biden and Harris for pro-Israel policies they argue have facilitated the deaths of tens of thousands of Gaza residents during Israel's 10-month-long war on Hamas, which rules the Palestinian territory. Democratic California Gov.
Gavin Newsom said he was pinching himself after watching delegates formally nominate Vice President Kamala Harris to the top of the ticket at the Democratic National Convention — and then slammed her MAGA opponent by likening the election to darkness versus light. Speaking with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins on the floor of the DNC in Chicago, Newsom shared how he couldn't believe he was standing there as governor announcing more than 400 votes for his pal Harris. "It's just surreal.
Just an obvious point of pride," he said. "What a point of privilege and what an opportunity to showcase someone whose next-level talent is now out of the shadow of being vice president and has the chance to shine." Newsom noted that the election is now a "sprint" and said Harris recognizes what's at stake.
He urged her to "stay on the offense." ALSO READ: Stop the Steal 2024 is here "No one's denying what's on the other side," he said, referring to former President Donald Trump . "No one is denying the choice: this is daylight and darkness and the contrast couldn't be more acute.
" Newsom then shared what he called "a beautiful thing to watch." "Donald Trump is spinning. He doesn't know what to do, he doesn't know how to do it.
But he'll ultimately land somewhere. And that's why we ultimately have to be humble as it relates to what's in front of us in the next few months," Newsom said. Newsom theorized that Trump was taken off guard by the party's sudden unity.
